Psychology - Transfer Major, AA

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), psychology is a diverse discipline grounded in science that studies the mind and behavior (APA, 2022). The field of psychology “embraces all aspects of the human experience – from the functions of the brain to the actions of nations, from child development to care for the aged” (APA, 2006). Having a psychology background provides foundational knowledge through which you might practice in applications of your everyday life or in fields such as mental health, social service, and medicine. Our transfer agreements allow students to continue their studies in 4-year institutions of higher education.  Students should consult with their advisor to ensure appropriate elective course selection based on their planned transfer institution.  Multiple instititions including but not limited to the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa accept the transfer major.  We also have specific articulations agreements with other insititions including the University of South Dakota and Briar Cliff University.
