PSY 171 - Health Psychology

3 credits
This course addresses information about psychological aspects of illness, hospitalization and lifestyle choices as they affect health. The course addresses such topics as the effects of stress on illness, lifestyle choices, how health services are used and misused, the patient-practitioner’s relationship, and the emotional adjustment to chronic illness and hospitalization. This course may be used as a supplemental course for health care students, as well as continuing education units (CEUs) for health care professionals currently working in the field.
