MUS 291 - Audio Principles and Theory

3 credits
This course examines the fundamentals of sound, and the history, theory and techniques of audio production. Students develop critical listening skills and analytical abilities to engage in effective audio manipulation. Students identify, measure, and manipulate sound and frequencies, and apply sound dampening techniques. Students learn the fundamentals of how to capture, edit, mix and master audio using a variety of analog and digital principles and equipment.
