MUS 215 - Music Theory IV 2 credits This course continues to build upon the knowledge developed in Theory III. The course utilizes elements of music which include: musical notation, melody, harmony, rhythm, texture, keys, major and minor scales structures, modes, chord construction, composition, and transposition. All elements will be related to relevant historical periods. Students will strengthen knowledge of musical techniques and concepts as they appear in each of the historical eras: Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century and Jazz and Modern Music. This class is intended for students with strong music theory background.
Prerequisite: MUS 117
